Alzheimer's and Dementia Care at Home - North Coast NSW

Staying Safe and Happy at Home with Dementia

In an Ideal world, Alzheimer's Disease and other Cognitive impairments would not happen, but in the real world, they remain a problem.

The good news is that help is available. With appropriate, careful, sensitive Home Care, a person living with Alzheimer's - or one of the many other forms of cognitive impairment - can live at home with safety and well-being.

Sadly, we don’t have a cure, but we do believe passionately that life is for living and that a person living with cognitive problems should have the most enjoyable, happiest life possible.

We understand the stress that managing these issues can cause for a loving partner or family members. We can help take that stress away.

Locations We Cover

We provide in-home dementia and Alzheimer's care across the Northern Rivers, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Mid North Coast, Tweed Heads, and Coolangatta regions.

Our Support Workers are local, consistent, and trained in dementia care - so your loved one always has a familiar face.

What Does Dementia Care At Home Look Like?

Every person living with dementia is different, and care needs to reflect that. A Support Worker from Ideally might help your loved one with:

  • Morning routines - getting up, showering, dressing, and breakfast, with as much independence as possible
  • Medication reminders and monitoring of physical health (our Registered Nurses can be involved where needed)
  • Engaging activities that bring familiarity and joy - music, gardening, gentle walks, reminiscing
  • Companionship and social connection, reducing isolation and anxiety
  • Safe supervision at home, reducing the risk of falls or wandering
  • Meal preparation and light household tasks
  • Regular updates to family members so you always know how your loved one is doing

As needs change over time, we adjust the Care Plan accordingly. We're with you for the long haul.

Support for Families and Carers

Caring for someone with dementia is one of the most demanding things a person can do. The worry, the disrupted sleep, the emotional weight - it adds up.

We work closely with families, not just clients. You'll receive regular updates from our Care Managers, and we can arrange respite care to give you time to rest and recharge.

Many families tell us that having a consistent, trustworthy Support Worker in place has changed their lives - not just their loved one's.

If you're not sure what help looks like yet, call us for a conversation. There's no obligation - just honest advice from people who understand.
