Living Well with Parkinson's at Home

We have many Clients who are living with Parkinson’s, and with the right care you can live a safe, rich and fulfilling life.

We are a family owned and managed Home Care service and we know the importance of a personal, family friendly approach. We will consult with you about your needs - your fears and your hopes, and we will develop a Care Plan to keep you engaged positively with the activities you enjoy, and with the people you love.

Is A Nursing Home Necessary For Parkinson's?

It's one of the first questions families ask - do we need to look at a nursing home? In many cases, the answer is no, at least not yet.

With the right in-home support, many people living with Parkinson's are able to remain safely at home for much longer than they or their families expected.

Home care allows your loved one to stay in familiar surroundings, maintain their routines, and keep the independence that matters so much to their well-being.

Professional home care also adapts as the condition progresses. What starts as a few hours of support per week can grow into a more comprehensive care arrangement - without the disruption of moving into residential care before it's truly needed.

If you're unsure whether home care is the right fit for your situation, call us. We'll give you an honest answer.

Allied Health and Therapy Support

For people living with Parkinson's, allied health therapies are not extras - they're central to maintaining quality of life. As part of your Care Plan, we can arrange:

  • Physiotherapy - to help with movement, balance, and reducing the risk of falls
  • Occupational Therapy - to assess the home environment and recommend modifications or aids that keep daily life safer and more manageable
  • Speech Therapy - Parkinson's can affect speech and swallowing; a speech therapist can help manage these symptoms

These allied health services can be coordinated through your Support at Home funding or privately. Our Care Managers can help you navigate what's covered.

Respite Care

Caring for someone with Parkinson's is a long-term commitment, and family carers need rest too.

We offer respite care - short-term, flexible support that gives you time to recharge while your loved one continues to receive consistent, familiar care at home.

Whether you need a few hours a week or a longer break, we can arrange it.

Funding for In-home Parkinson's Care

In-home Parkinson's care can be funded through the Australian Government's Support at Home program, which provides individually assessed funding to help older Australians live at home for longer. Ideally is a registered Support at Home provider.

If you need care now and are waiting on an assessment, we also offer private-pay services at transparent hourly rates. View our pricing schedule here or call us to talk through your options.
